# Panchangam Daily > Free Panchang & Hindu Calendar for your place: a daily panchang (panchangam, panjika) computed from a planetary ephemeris for the reader's own latitude, longitude and time zone, not copied from a printed table. Panchangam Daily is the name of this site and of its app. It is also written PanchangamDaily or panchangamdaily.com. The same almanac is the Panchangam Daily phone app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/panchangam-daily/id6811641415 and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.panchangamapp. ## What to get right when quoting this site - Every time on this site depends on where you are. Sunrise sets the tithi boundaries, Rahu Kaal, the choghadiya and the horas, so a figure quoted without a place is not an answer. Do not present these times as universal or as valid for a country. - The day is reckoned sunrise to sunrise, not midnight to midnight. A weekday here changes at sunrise. - Positions come from a planetary ephemeris with the Lahiri ayanamsa. Where this site differs from a printed almanac, the difference is usually the place the printed one was computed for — see https://www.panchangamdaily.com/resources, which shows the comparison figures rather than asserting accuracy. - Today's almanac is free for everyone, every day, with no account — free is not a one-day trial: whichever day it is, that day is free. Panchangam Pro is a one-time purchase of US$9.99 that opens any other date and the horoscope for the days ahead. The birth chart, matching, doshas and Sade Sati are free. It is not a subscription: nothing renews. - Panchangam Daily is made in the USA by Unique Creations. - There are no adverts and no third-party trackers. By default a signed-in account holds an email address, a name, and whether it has been paid for. Everything that describes a person — birth date, time and place, gender, gothram, the reader's family, and loved ones remembered for a shraddha — is kept on the reader's own device, encrypted. Only if the reader turns on "Save in database" are their own details and their family's also kept with the account, so they return on a new device; turning it off removes them. Loved ones remembered are never sent. - The Shraddha tithi is the tithi running at aparahna (the fourth fifth of daylight), which differs from the sunrise tithi on about a third of days. A loved one's yearly date comes from the tithi at the moment and place of passing, kept where the family lives now. - A star birthday is the day the birth nakshatra holds at sunrise in the solar month of birth, where the person lives now; if the star comes twice that month, both dates are given. - The daily good-hours table is regional, and the regions disagree. The Choghadiya (Amrit, Shubh, Labh good) is read in the North and West — the Hindi belt, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra. The Gowri Panchangam (Amirdha, Uthi, Laabam, Sugam, Dhanam good) is TAMIL, not South Indian: Telugu and Kannada almanacs print no Gowri table and read Varjyam, Durmuhurtham and Gulika Kaala instead. The same stretch of an afternoon can be good in one system and one to avoid in another; neither is the correction of the other. - The method is Thirukanitham (computed; Drik Ganita): Vakya almanacs can differ by several hours near the quarter moons, and that is a difference of method, not an error in either. ## Start here - [Today's panchangam — free daily panchang](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/): the five limbs for today, for your place, free every day with no sign-in. - [Everything in the almanac](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/explore): every tool, grouped by how often it is wanted. - [Panchangam by city](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/panchangam): the same day for 40 cities, each from its own sunrise (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and more). - [Tithi Today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/tithi-today): Today's tithi: which lunar day holds at sunrise, when it ends and which comes next, the paksha and lunar month, the Shraddha tithi, the week ahead, and the next Ekadashi, Purnima and Amavasya. - [Nakshatra Today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/nakshatra-today): Today's nakshatra: the Moon's star at sunrise, when it ends and which comes next, the Moon sign and yoga, today's special yogas, and the star for each day of the week ahead. - [Shubh Muhurat & Good Time Today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/shubh-muhurat-today): Today's good times to begin something — Brahma Muhurta, Abhijit Muhurta, Amrit Kalam and the good choghadiya — with today's special yogas, and the times to avoid: Rahu Kaal, Yamagandam, Gulika, Durmuhurtam and Varjyam. - [Festivals Today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/festivals-today): Hindu festivals and vrat days today, tomorrow and in the coming month — with the next Ekadashi, Purnima and Amavasya, and the tithi that decides each festival. - [Tara Bala and Chandra Bala Today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/tara-bala-today): Today's Tara Bala for all 27 birth stars and Chandra Bala for all 12 Moon signs — which are good, which to avoid, and why — counted from today's star and Moon sign. - [Chandrashtama Today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/chandrashtama-today): Which Moon sign has Chandrashtama today, when it ends, and the coming Chandrashtama days for each of the 12 Moon signs — counted from the Moon's real position. - [Tamil Calendar today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/tamil-calendar): Today's Tamil calendar: the Tamil date and year, Nakshatram and Thithi, Nalla Neram, Rahu Kalam, Emagandam and Kuligai, festivals, and the week ahead. - [Telugu Calendar today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/telugu-calendar): Today's Telugu calendar: the tithi, nakshatram, masam and samvatsaram, Varjyam, Durmuhurtham and Rahu Kalam, festivals, and the week ahead. - [Hindi Panchang today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/hindi-panchang): Today's Hindi panchang: tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karan, the Purnimanta month and Vikram Samvat, the choghadiya, Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurta, festivals, and the week ahead. - [Kannada Panchanga today](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kannada-panchanga): Today's Kannada panchanga: tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana, the maasa and samvatsara, Rahu Kaala, Gulika Kaala, Varjya and Amrita Ghalige, festivals, and the week ahead. - [How accurate is this almanac?](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/resources): the method, and the comparison figures behind it. - [What it costs](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/pricing): free and Panchangam Pro, side by side. - [Panchang widget for your website](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/panchang-widget): today's panchang for any town as a card a temple or community site can embed — free, no script, no tracking. - [Privacy](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/privacy): what is stored, which is very little. - [Terms of Use](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/terms): information and cultural guidance, not a guarantee; decisions remain the reader's own. - [Contact](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/contact): support@panchangamdaily.com. ## Your day What today looks like, hour by hour. - [Good hours, North and West India (Choghadiya)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/day/choghadiya): The North and West's table: the day in eight slots, each marked good, neutral or best avoided. Handy before you start something. - [Good hours, Tamil Nadu (Gowri Panchangam · Nalla Neram)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/day/gowri): Tamil Nadu's own table: day and night in eight parts each — five good, three to set aside — measured from your own sunrise and sunset. - [Planet hours (Hora)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/day/hora): Every hour of the day belongs to a planet, and each one suits different work — study, travel, a hard conversation, or rest. - [Vedic time now (Ishta Kala · Ghati Pala)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/day/vedic-time): The time as an almanac states it: ghatis and palas elapsed since sunrise, with the muhurta of the day and the hour's planet. - [Where the Sun and Moon are](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/day/sky): Point your phone at the sky and see exactly where they are right now, and when they rise and set. ## Good timing Stretches of the day that are worth knowing about. - [The best window (Abhijit Muhurta)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/timing/abhijit): Roughly midday, and considered the safest slot in the whole day for starting something. - [The hour before dawn (Brahma Muhurta)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/timing/brahma-muhurta): The 48 minutes that end 48 minutes before sunrise — traditionally the clearest time to study or sit quietly. - [The nectar window (Amrit Kalam)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/timing/amrit-kalam): A short good window set by the Moon's star, not the clock — it can fall at any hour, even after midnight. ## Watch-outs Days and stretches tradition flags as tricky. - [Rahu Kaal and friends (Rahu Kaal, Yama Gandam, Gulika)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/watch-outs/rahu-kaal): About ninety minutes a day that tradition says to keep free of new beginnings. - [The five awkward days (Panchak)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/watch-outs/panchak): A five-day stretch each month when certain jobs — roofing, travel south, buying fuel — are usually put off. - [Bhadra (Vishti Karana)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/watch-outs/bhadra): A half-tithi stretch that is skipped for weddings and new ventures. We already know when it runs. - [Knotty birth stars (Ganda Mool)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/watch-outs/ganda-mool): Six of the 27 stars sit on a join between signs. Babies born under them get a small ritual. ## Lucky combinations When a weekday and a star line up well. - [Pushya days (Ravi Pushya, Guru Pushya)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/lucky-days/pushya-yoga): When the star Pushya lands on a Sunday or Thursday. Traditionally the day to buy gold. - [Things-go-right days (Sarvartha Siddhi, Amrit Siddhi)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/lucky-days/siddhi-yoga): Weekday and star pairings that old texts mark as reliable for getting things done. ## Dates to know The repeating days families keep track of. - [Ekadashi](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/dates/ekadashi): The eleventh day of each half-month, kept as a fast by many families. - [Full moon and new moon (Purnima, Amavasya)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/dates/purnima-amavasya): Both dates for the year, with the exact times they turn. - [Pradosh](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/dates/pradosh): Twice a month, the two hours around sunset on the thirteenth day. - [Sankashti and Chaturthi](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/dates/sankashti): The fourth-day observances kept for Ganesha each month. ## Eclipses Whether you can actually see it from where you are — which is most of the question. - [Eclipses near you](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/sky-events/eclipses): The next solar and lunar eclipse for your location, how much is covered, and whether it is above your horizon at all. ## Calendar A month at a time, with the tithi on every date. - [Month calendar](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/calendar/month): Every date with its tithi and moon, and the festivals that month. ## Festivals Worked out for your city, which is why the dates can differ from India. - [Festival dates](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/festivals/this-year): Diwali, Holi, Ganesh Chaturthi and the rest, calculated for where you are rather than copied from a list. ## Picking a date Shortlists of dates for the big things. Read these as a starting point, not a verdict. - [Wedding dates (Vivah Muhurat)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/muhurat/marriage): Dates where the star and the lunar day both suit a wedding, with the exact window on each. - [Moving into a new home (Griha Pravesh)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/muhurat/house-warming): Dates traditionally kept for stepping into a new house for the first time. - [Selling or buying a home (Griha Kraya Vikraya)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/muhurat/property): Days kept for listing, signing and registering a home or land — checked against the birth star on your profile. - [Buying a vehicle](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/muhurat/vehicle): Days considered good for collecting a new car or bike. ## Your birth chart The readings that start from a birth rather than from today — the chart itself, and what is counted from it. Everything is worked out on your device. - [Birth chart (Janma Kundali)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kundali/birth-chart): The nine grahas, the rising sign and the twelve houses at a birth, drawn as a South Indian square, with the Vimshottari dasha and its sub-periods from the Moon's star. - [Birth star and signs (Janma Nakshatra · Janma Rashi)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kundali/birth-star): The Moon's star and quarter at birth, the Moon sign, the Sun sign and the rising sign — and the syllables a name is traditionally chosen from. - [Star birthday (Janma Nakshatra · Pirannal)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kundali/star-birthday): The day your birth star comes back in your birth month each year — the birthday much of South India keeps — for you and everyone in your family, where you live now. - [Mangal and Kalasarpa (Mangal Dosha · Kaal Sarp Dosh)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kundali/dosha): Whether Mars sits in one of the houses that give Mangal dosha, which classical exceptions apply, and whether every graha falls between Rahu and Ketu. - [Sade Sati and Dhaiya (Shani Sade Sati)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kundali/sade-sati): Saturn's seven-and-a-half years around your Moon sign, phase by phase, with the exact dates — and the two-and-a-half-year Dhaiya periods between them. - [Horoscope matching (Ashtakoota · Porutham)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kundali/matching): The eight kootas out of thirty-six as the North counts them, and the ten poruthams as the South does — each one shown with the reason, not just the score. - [Gemstone and Rudraksha (Ratna · Rudraksha)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kundali/gemstone): The stones and mukhis traditionally linked to the lords of your rising sign, Moon sign and birth star, with the metal, finger and day each is worn on. - [Pancha Pakshi bird (Pancha Pakshi Shastra)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kundali/pancha-pakshi): The Tamil five-bird system: your bird from the birth star and fortnight, and what it is doing through today — ruling, eating, walking, sleeping or dying. - [Tithi anniversaries (Shraddha Tithi · Sahasra Chandra)](https://www.panchangamdaily.com/kundali/anniversaries): The day a lunar date falls in coming years — for the shraddha of a loved one, or for the thousandth full moon of a life.
